Our Camps & Clinics are non-competitive and seek to empower participants through motor skill development, confidence building, fun challenges, and our unique blend of positive reinforcement. Personal attention is given to every child.  The following are answers you will find helpful.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our Program is for school-aged kids to young adults (ages 7-21)  with special needs.

Each day, we offer several motor skill clinics (stations) so that players with little or no basketball knowledge can have a positive experience and develop hand-eye control. Those players with some or even a lot of experience will gain new skill sets.

The keys are fun, development, and self-confidence without pressure.

Attendees are placed in similar age groups for our development sessions. Our goal is for campers to develop peer trust across all ages.

You BET THEY ARE! Boys and girls are provided the same wonderful and identical experience. Proper decorum and etiquette will be observed at all times.

Our programs are geared for kids and young adults with the challenges of Autism, ADHD, Epilepsy, Neurological Disorders, Spectrum Diagnosis, and Mental/Emotional Challenges. Those with learning disabilities and slow motor skill development along with peer mistrust and social interaction issues will do well in our nurturing environment

Bounce Out the Stigma is truly unique as it was founded and is run by a person who experienced harsh labels, isolation, and bullying.

Our Camps & Clinics are non-competitive and seek to empower participants through motor skill development, confidence building, fun challenges, and our unique blend of positive reinforcement. Personal attention is given to every child, and every child will learn the game of basketball and have fun doing it. The centerpiece is the interaction between ALL CAMPERS AND STAFF in a truly friendly environment.

YOU BET, we encourage parents to spend time at our events watching the activities of their child. You would be surprised by the cheers and laughs from the parents watching the fun everyone is having.

REMEMBER, our camps are not just basketball; they are geared for kids to gain self-confidence, understand direction, and being a kid having fun.

Mike Simmel is present at all events, “running the show.” Bob Azzolino, a Camp/Clinic Director, is also at New Jersey Camps, and Bob is a full-time special education teacher in Bergen County, NJ.

During our multiday camps, other paid staff are comprised of teachers and corporate volunteers.   Depending on the event, additional support staff members are comprised of carefully screened volunteers. Camper to Counselor ratio usually is at a 3:1 and in some instances may be at 1:1 with a defined “shadow program.”

WE GUARANTEE THEY WILL!  The biggest issue you will encounter after camp is over is your child wanting to practice the motor skill exercises they learned at camp. Bouncing a ball in the living room is the central issue we face.
